Zorn Avenue Pump Station Generator Building

Summary

The Zorn Pump Station Standby Generator Project in Louisville, Kentucky, involved constructing a new generator building to house three 2,500 kW diesel engine-driven generators and a 15 kV switchgear. The project included installing HVAC, plumbing, instrumentation, controls, wiring, and conduit. Additionally, three 12,000-gallon aboveground diesel fuel tanks were installed with double-wall piping, leak detection, and monitoring systems. The scope also covered a new access road, relocating yard piping and underground utilities, and performing concrete, masonry, structural, and metal work.

Result

The building, backup generators, and fuel tanks help Louisville Water provide uninterrupted service to the community. Also, the use of limestone veneer and a slate roof matches the existing historical pump station to preserve the aesthetics of the property.
